We Tried Paris Hilton's Mac and Cheese — and It Just Might Change the Way You Make This Comfort Food for Good

This is one ‘Cooking with Paris’ recipe we can all get behind.

Paris Hilton might not be the most obvious guide for cooking instruction (perhaps the music, acting, and fashion careers have overshadowed her true culinary stardom), but her new Netflix show proves she knows her way around the kitchen and always offers her own, er, flair to her food.

In studded gloves, stilettos, and sunglasses (for chopping onions), Paris creates one-of-a-kind creations that look, for the most part, pretty tasty. If you're a fan of food and fashion, Paris peaks in the intersection. Oh, and her dogs are always along for the ride.

In the holiday episode of Cooking with Paris on Netflix, she prepares a spread — turkey and all — for a few famous friends, but the true star of the table is her "famous" mac and cheese, which starts with none other than a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese. She calls this dish a crowd-pleaser, and according to her guests, it was absolutely delicious.

So, what's her secret to amping up standard store-bought mac? A Whole. Lot. of Cheese. Think three pounds of it. The preparation looked so absurd, I had to try it for myself.

Paris's four-cheese mac and cheese was actually one of the ooey-gooyist dishes I've ever tasted, and it was almost unrecognizable in flavor from the kid-friendly noodles I grew up on. Watch the video above to see how it went down.

How to Make Paris Hilton's Mac and Cheese

Adapted from Netflix's Cooking with Paris

  • 3 boxes of Kraft Mac and Cheese (including cheese packets)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 lb shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ lb shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. Prepare noodles according to package instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, milk, and all of the cheeses and cheese packets.
  3. When noodles are fully cooked, remove from heat. Drain the water and return the noodles to the pot.
  4. Pour the cheese mixture into the hot pot and stir until the noodles are coated. Transfer to a large dish. Decorate with Paris's designer cupcake toppers (optional, of course), and serve immediately.
