Darcy Lenz is a food writer, senior editor, and recipe developer at Allrecipes with over ten years of experience in food media.

Experience: She has produced food content for various mediums, including radio broadcasting, newspaper, magazine, and digital publishing. Her writing and recipes have appeared in Cooking Light, Coastal Living, MyRecipes, Women's Running, The Pioneer Woman, and more.

Before entering the publishing world, Darcy explored her culinary curiosities in several energizing settings, during which she has worked as a private cook, restaurant pastry chef, and retail wine consultant.

In 2013, she was selected for an editorial fellowship with Cooking Light magazine and continued to work for the brand as an assistant editor for three years.

During her time with Cooking Light, she wrote and developed recipes for feature stories,
oversaw multiple weeknight cooking columns and the brand's beverage content and took on recipe development and recipe editing for Coastal Living magazine.

In 2016, Darcy became an editor at MyRecipes, and in 2020, she joined Allrecipes as a senior editor, continuing her passion for creating accessible cooking content and recipes for audiences all across the internet.

Education: Her media career began at the University of Georgia, where she served as a variety reporter and opinions columnist for the independent student newspaper, The Red & Black, and as the food and managing editor for Ampersand magazine, another student publication. Darcy graduated with a multi-major degree in Magazine Journalism and Consumer Journalism with an emphasis on Food & Nutrition Science and a minor in English.

The one kitchen appliance she can't live without is a microplane.
