This turned out very moist. I used 2 old bananas we had in the freezer so slicing was out of the question but followed the directions as written. Saving this one for next time.
I've used this as a base recipe for years now. It's wonderful as is but is easy to customize depending on what you might have on hand or to your taste. For example, I only use 2 cup of chicken broth made with Better Than Bouillion, 1/2 an onion, extra garlic and 1 can of green chiles. I never add the cumin (we don't care for it). I also increase the whipping cream to 3/4 cup and only use a dollop of sour cream. A roasted Anaheim pepper goes great in this as well.
Other than using less brown sugar I followed this recipe. My family loved it and asked for it again the next week. I used a Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon so, not a real expensive wine, (I only mention it because no one else specified what kind of red wine they used.) which was good enough for us. I sprinkled about a tablespoon of sugar on the chicken pieces while they browned then flipped them over. Oh, I guess I used thighs instead of breasts too. Other than that followed the recipe.
