This turned out fantastic. If you do not like lamb, you can use beef instead. I used different colored carrots and potatoes to make it stand out. Turned out great.
Do yourself a favor and use fresh sour cherries. Not the ones at the store for eating fresh. Canned is to soft and mushy. I add a little red food color for astestics. This is very close to the recipe that my grandmother taught me.
I love recreating Chef John's recipes. They always turn out great. As dis this one. This pie is absolutely fantastic.Thanks again Chef John for another wonderful recipe.
Fantastic and very easy. I would make one suggestion. If you are going with a lattice top.. please please use some red food coloring. It just makes it look so much better.
Ok, the one thing that i noticed that this recipe did not have was any water. I used 3 quarts of popcorn 2/3 cup Sorghum (molasses), 1 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup WATER, 1/3 tsp salt, 1/3 tsp vinegar, 2tbs butter and 2 tsp vanilla.
