This was delicious!! Used the dry bichon pancit noodles and softened them with hot water. Used shrimp instead of chicken. Was tasty!! Double the recipe for a large group. Did not use onions, subbed green onions instead.
This was really yummy! I doubled the recipe and made 2 loaves. Baked it at 340 degrees. Following others suggestions, I increased the sugar to 1/3 cup, used 3/4 tsp salt and for basting the top, I used 1/4 cup melted butter and 1/3 cup buttermilk. Will definitely make it again!
I used closer to 1.5 cups of heavy cream and I mixed 1/2 cup of white wine into the cream. I layered the potatoes with a little minced Garlic. I also used some extra cheese. They took about an hour to cook. I undercovered them for the last 20 min to brown. Delicious.
Update 2/22- Made this recipe again. Still used a little less sugar and doubled the dressing recipe. Used a little extra mayo and mustard to offset the taste of the vinegar. Added chopped shredded carrots, chopped celery and sliced black olives! Delicious!I doubled this recipe for a 4th of July BBQ. I used 1.5 boxes of elbow macaroni and doubled the sauce part. I only used 1/2 cup sugar total for the 2x recipe. I also added a little extra mayo and mustard, as it seemed a little vinegary to me. I didn't add the pimento peppers or green peppers. I used celery, green onions, sliced black olives and chopped shredded carrots. It was so freaking good! It tastes better if you make it the night before too.
I doubled this recipe and I made it on the stove instead of the crockpot. I pureed the whole tomatoes and I subbed the water for extra chicken broth. I also served black beans and some white rice inside of the soup to make it a little heartier. I garnished it with tortilla chips (crushed), shredded cheddar cheese, some pieces of avocado and some chopped cilantro. Delicious!
Too much milk...overall a good recipe but would either completely eliminate the milk next time or just do a couple tbsp. Used chives instead of green onions!
