This is really yummy! The balsamic vinegar caramelizes in the oven so it sweetens more as it cooks. I made this dish with roasted potato chunks, so baked them at 375 F for 25 minutes, flipped the potatoes, then put the salmon on another baking sheet alongside the potatoes for an additional 15 minutes. Came out great.

Perfect when you have a lot of yolks to use up! I used 10 yolks plus an extra egg to make up the 1 cup. Whipped the wet ingredients for at least 5 minutes as suggested and this really helped the cake volume/lightness. I used strawberry flavoring instead of citrus and baked in a Bundt pan for 40 minutes. Turn out great!

Delicious warm or cold. Reduced sugar to 5 tablespoons and reduced oil to 4 tbsp (3 tbsp veg and 1 tbsp sesame). Added some grated ginger to the garlic. Add red peppers, carrots strips and green onion for color. Great for potlucks.

A caramel apple pie -- loved this! A really unique twist on a traditional pie. Also super easy to put together if you just pour the caramel on the inside and use a regular top crust. I enjoy it with a bit of cinnamon tossed with the apples too. I do have to watch for the crust darkening too quickly though -- at the 30 minute mark, I put a ring of heavy duty aluminum foil around the crust to prevent burning.

Substituted lard for shortening , but the ratios of flour/fat/liquid here are perfect. A very easy to work with dough. It seems the egg makes this crust sturdier though perhaps a bit less flaky than other pastry recipes. Would probably be very good for a meat pie.

i had to cover it with foil afer 50 minutes because i was worried the top would burn. took an extra ten minutes before my knife showed doneness but i think somehow it was still overbaked. a bit too dry and dense for my liking.
