For such simple ingredients, these were the meatballs I love - not packed with filler, simple seasonings and crusty exterior. I changed the sauce and used Bobby Flay's Balsamic glaze from his turkey meatloaf (3/4 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup + 2 Tbs Balsamic vinegar. Pinch of red pepper flakes). The meatballs freeze *wonderfully* I halved the recipe with 1 lb. ground beef, and that netted 24 meatballs! This is a keeper.
My only change was to use Splenda instead of sugar. I found the cobbler so unsweet that I added Hershey's dark chocolate syrup drizzled over the top and vanilla ice cream. Musts in my opinion. It was a unique recipe, but I would need to add these tweaks.
Great chicken casserole recipe, with small tweaks. Like other reviews, I added mixed vegetables. It was on the bland side, so added thyme and pepper to mixture and a heavy teaspoon of sage to dressing.
Added 1 cup raisins. I needed to add a piece more of bread, because there was a lot of liquid leftover with my skinny raisin bread slices. (I added a piece of brioche sandwich bread.) It was *wonderful* with warm maple syrup. A keeper, especially when I have some aging raisin bread.
This is a god basic recipe -- except for the dryness mentioned in other reviews. I added sour cream and half-and-half, and it was creamy wonderful. I cut the recipe in half, so I only added 1/3 cup sour cream and 1/3 cup milk or half and half. Made a world of difference. I topped with the second half of the cheese and sprinkled with almonds for crunch.
