I changed the flour to a gluten-free blend. I replaced the butter with dairy-free margarine but added just a little bit more. I replaced the egg with applesauce. It turned out so moist and fluffy! My friends and children can't tell the difference!
Wonderfully EASY!!! This savory cookie has been a hit at every cookie exchange. I use a wine or brandy based jelly/jam on top. I used a bit more butter than required, and make sure you use a sharp/old cheddar. No need for fancy/expensive cheese. Any old cheddar will do.
Fig jam goes wonderfully with this. A MUST TRY!!
