Contrary to what the instructions say, DO NOT WHISK the flour and eggs together. Just let them sit in the bowl unmixed and then only, gradually add the milk while whisking. I just tried and it worked perfectly!
I've tried several coleslaw recipes over the years and they all required tons of ingredients. I should have know that the simpler, the better! I will not go looking for a coleslaw again!
This was pretty good! We're usually not huge fans of cabbage but I will definitely make this again. I followed other reviewers' advice and 1) Steamed the cabbage head so I could remove the leaves easily 2) tripled the sauce 3) shredded some of the remaining cabbage in the sauce 4) used the oven instead of crock pot (1.5h covered and 0.5h uncovered). This makes just enough for 3 adults (4 rolls each).
