Wow. This really did turn out that good!Very very minor changes here; I used spicy brown mustard, because that’s what I had, and I added a few drops of liquid smoke, which really did not make much of a difference. 6 pieces of chicken.Following the advice of others, I cooked it on low for 3 hours and 45 minutes. It was incredible. After we ate, I shredded the remaining few pieces (they fell apart) and put them back into the sauce to soak it up a little bit. The next time I make this, I will shred all of the chicken thighs and put them back into the sauce. This will go on the regular rotation here.
Although it’s a mild dish, this had a wonderful flavor and texture. A great way to use up those zucchinis that grow like weeds. My minor modifications are that I added a couple tablespoons of fresh chopped basil. I also added a diced orange bell pepper that I sautéed slightly along with the onion. being as I do not use measuring cups, I went a little heavy with the Bisquick. I also had two tiny tomatoes from the garden, so I sliced them thin and layered them on top. This is absolutely a keeper.
Very good recipe. I only used 8 oz of pasta, but I used homemade fusilli pasta. It held the sauce nicely. I also used freshly homemade pesto with 2 chicken breasts and the sun dried tomatoes. Great use of excess basil. Will definitely be making again.
Excellent recipe. The only minor changes I made were doubling the sauce, as recommended in another review, and I use a lower sodium soy substitute. The next time I make it, my wife requested I double the amount of peppers. And I will definitely be making it again.
This recipe gets a solid five stars. I made it according to the recipe, including the hot sauce, Fritos, and jalapeños as shown in the video. My only regret is that I did not make a double recipe. It was even delicious leftover. Absolutely fantastic! I can’t wait to make it again.
