I love this recipe. It is my absolute favorite soup to make. I follow the recipe exactly. I make it ever month and it instantly makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Perfect amount of kick and full of flavor. Serve with a side rice or mix right into your bowl
Ive made this recipe 3 times now, currently simmering on the stove, and it is my family's favorite. I can never get the roux dark enough even after stirring for over an hour but i get it a nice light skinned brown which is good enough for me. I add day old roasted chicken instead of crab meat but other than that i follow the recipe. I live in the midwest and never have had the priviledge of eating some good down south cooking so this will have to do for now. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
An instant family favorite, even my picky 4 year old licked the bowl clean. My adjustments: 2 17 ounce cans of tomatoes with chilis, a few dashes of tapatia hot sauce, a lot more cumin ( other rater's suggestion), and 2 cans of white beans. Will definitely be making this again.
