Five stars for a great starting point for chicken noodle casserole. I added 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup. One jar 12 oz. turkey gravy. I used 18oz. Of egg noodles and increased the mayo to 1 cup, using 4 large boneless chicken breasts. I also mixed in one can of peas. Yes, for all those who are saying I changed the recipe entirely.. Yes I did. You see, I didn't have a starting point when I ran across this one and I had to make a meal out of the chicken breast I had out thawing already and had no clue what to do with it. So this recipe ( the posters) gave me just the start I needed so hands down a 5 star rating! Thank you!
Basic recipe? Yes. Easy to make? Certainly. That is about all I liked about this recipe. Had to add more liquid midway for it was starting to dry up and rice wasn't even have way cooked through. I added a cup of water and a can of chicken broth. I also mixed with some mushrooms. The finished dish when complete was bland at best.
This is a fantastic recipe. I used tenderized chicken breast, the kind that looks like cube steak ( only its chicken ) I also made as the update from the author of the recipe indicated, using TBLS and not tsps. The flavor was out of this world. This recipe is a definite repeat and keeper. LOVE IT!
The flavor was good! Didn't turn out! Batter wasn't thick like a cookie batter should be and baking time was almost double and would still fall apart after baking. .
I've made this twice now. It's a real winner with my family, particularly my husband who likes tuna, but has never been a fan of any tuna cassarole until now. Tip: for those who think 1 cup of bread crumbs is too much. Just sprinkle over the top until desired amount is reach. Problem solved. 5 stars for ease in making, the over all taste and its a good meal if your on a budget. Most usually have every ingredient on hand anyway! Great recipe!
