Pretty good! I'm hesitant to rate this because I changed it a lot, but I used this as a base recipe so I'll just go ahead and review it. Take it with a grain of salt if you like. I had sliced, not whole water chestnuts, bacon crumbles, and sweet chili sauce. I don't know the difference between sweet chili sauce versus chili sauce, but it gave it an Asian flavor. Instead of baking, I fried it up in a skillet, starting with garlic and olive oil, then the water chestnuts and bacon, then the sauce. I let it carmalize for about 5 minutes before serving over rice. Hubs loved it, kid wasn't very sure, and I thought it was filling. I may get around to making this as is one day, but as a stir fry it's very nice.
Nice banana bread. I didn't have butter, subbed butter flavored Crisco instead, which made it darken more quickly, I think. I find it hard to grate pears so mashed them along with the bananas. I've found my oven needs longer while baking, so the loaf needed longer than the stated time to bake. Very nice, moist, and easy banana bread that used up both pears and bnanas. Thank you for the recipe.
I used Buddig brand sliced beef, and used a pizza cutter to slice into smaller pieces. I added a pinch of salt and pepper to make up the flavor difference. This recipe is super easy if you've made a roux before; if not, don't despair abut it not thickening immediately. My experience is that a roux needs to boil then as it cools down, it thickens. Hubs likes this gravy more than I do; I tried it and thought it was palatable, but he really likes this type of gravy and finished it all! I call that a success. Thank you for the recipe.
Nice sticky buns. I haven't baked in a while, and this was a good recipe with which to bake again. The dough is very nice; a little tacky, but easily worked with. I used the bread machine to make the dough as I'm a walk away type of baker. The most difficult part of this recipe for me is that my brown sugar was hard so I had to get it out of the container and soften it in the microwave; otherwise, pretty easy. I didn't oil the pan but didn't need to; the topping, which has butter in it, helped the buns come out easily. I didn't even notice until after I baked this, served this, and we ate it that the recipe called for a 375 degree oven. This is where it's handy to know your oven. Mine always bakes bread and sweets (unless it's pizza or baguettes) on 350, so that's what I set it on. Perfectly done at 45 minutes. This is a good recipe, but the dough is a bit plain for us. I'd maybe add vanilla or cinnamon, but we like a tad more flavor. Most people would like this as is, I think. Thanks for the recipe!
Very simple and easy banana bread. I subbed oil for melted butter and it came out great. A little too moist bc I can't say I'm good at measuring bananas ... .so had to cook longer than directed, but came out very well. Thanks for the recipe.
