We both loved it, and as stated, because it is not in a pan, the juices run out as opposed to steaming it. Flavor superb just as it is! Definitely enough for lunch tomorrow!
My husband loves tapioca, and I make a batch every week. This time I tried to cut down and added only one egg because last batch, once it had cooled down, seemed to produce a bit of water.....but it might also have been because I used a stick blender to whip the egg whites.
I make it regularly and often add slivered almonds, and sometimes add a bit more curry powder as we like everything..hot! My husband prefers not to eat much beef, so while the original recipe called for ground lamb (or mutton) I have also made it with turkey
I have made several versions and YES...love it. Last night I MESSED UP by not roasting, but did it all in large saucepan, and then thinking I needed to add green, I added a package of chopped frozen spinach...AAARGH! Unappealing with the spinach leaves coating everything. Flavor was there, but this needs to be roasted AS PER THE RECIPE!!! Thanks
Yes, I never put potatoes into hot water...start them from cold water. It all turned out great, except for the fact that I had never used sweet relish...and Ive learned something new...delicious! Thanks
