I made this last night as a side dish using red and green lentils and jasmine rice. I sautéed a sweet yellow onion to stir in and garnish. I used alot of cumin and black pepper. i served with whole milk plain greek yogurt. The only thing I did differently in the recipe was that I sautéed the onion in chopped bacon, which I know would never be traditional given its origin. The bacon addition was perfect for our western palates. A great recipe, a good comfort food.
