Rave reviews! There’s no reason to have another carrot cake recipe. I generally don’t make changes to recipes that I’m trying, but due to an abundance of dried cherries and not so many raisins, cherries it was. Great tart counter-point to the sweet. I topped it with a bourbon butter-cream and fireworks! Sam may be gone, but his carrot cake recipe lives on.
Great flavor! I dislike reviews that go on about changing this or adding that, well, I’m going there, just slightly. I added a puck of “More Than Gourmet” Classic Seafood Stock for depth. Next time, I’ll need to adjust moisture-to-rice ratio, as it was a little to moist for my wife’s liking, but only a minor tweak. All-in-all, a yummy Cajun dish. Oysters?
This is a very good recipe. I found that I needed nearly 8 cups of flour vs 6 to create a workable dough. With that adjustment I ended up with exactly 24 rolls. I rolled raisins in with the brown sugar/cinnamon, cuz my wife likes them in there. Dried cherries or cranberries would work as well. This will be my go-to going forward!
Very good and very easy! Creamy with good depth of flavor. I did make an addition, and that was a couple handfuls of fresh baby spinach. I sautéed it with the shrimp just as they finished cooking. Otherwise, this is outstanding as written.
I’ve made this recipe several times and it comes out perfect every time. I dispensed with loaf pans early on and have gone to a free-form “football” on a baking sheet with silpat. Everyone who has tried it has wanted the recipe. A definite go-to!
