Excellent recipe for something different. I served it right in the cast iron skillet. My guests loved it and I put the leftovers in an omelet for breakfast. I'll certainly make this again.
These were very simple to make with ingredients that I always have on hand. I followed the recipe exactly except I used 1/2 cup white sugar and 1 cut brown sugar. I baked them in a 9X13 pan for exactly 30 minutes. They were still very soft but I let them completely cool before slicing them. Delicious.
This is a great way to use up bok choy. I used a large one instead of babies and the whole family thought it was delicious. Even the teenagers didn't complain. I used bouillon instead of plain salt and kept the bacon fat instead of olive oil.
I used venison instead of beef and it came out perfect. I like there there are only a few ingredients and no spices to overwhelm the goulash. My sons love it. Excellent recipe just as it's written.
