First, I brined my chicken. I soaked the chicken in a bowl of very salty warm water for 15 minutes. Then I rinsed and dried them. Then I seasoned them a little with a BBQ sauce rub I found here. I also precooked the bacon a little and used my own BBQ sauce. It was really good. I gave it 4 stars because I did season the chicken. But brining chicken breasts results in chicken so tender you can cut it with a fork.

My husband finished one of the biscuits and said "this one is a keeper." I agree. I grated the cold butter in and tossed it with the flour until the butter was coated. I was out of buttermilk so I soured milk with a tsp lemon juice. They were super flaky and crispy. Really, really good. Two thumbs up. Next time I'll make a point of using buttermilk. I've made these muffins multiple times exactly as written. They're perfect! This time I omitted the butter (it was frozen solid and I didn't want to fuss with it) and used canola oil instead. For the topping I sprinkled a generous amount of turbinado. The muffins were just as delicious with the oil as with the butter. The turbinado topping was really good too, gave it a nice crunch on top. Either way these muffins are delish.

I made this recipe exactly as written minus the candied ginger which I didn't have. I'm not a big ginger and molasses fan but these cookies were absolutely delicious.

I've been looking for a nice soft bread recipe. This is it. I didn't use a bread machine but mixed it up in my stand mixer with the dough hook. I used very warm water and quick rise yeast that I sprinkled on top of the flour. After kneading I let the dough rest for 10 minutes then shaped it into balls. I let it rise for about an hour then baked. I think next time I will try adding some old cheddar. A keeper. Thanks for posting. ??
