I loved that this recipe used brown sugar instead of white sugar. I DID tweak it! I added vanilla flavoring, dried dates and walnut pieces along with other spices like nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice. I also used whole wheat flour and frozen bananas for that extra natural sweetness. The final product was brushed with real butter and it was exactly what I expected! Firm, flavorful, but not overly sweet or dry!
These biscuits are EXACTLY what I was looking for! A simple recipe that would deliver HUGE taste without a lot of ingredients/preparation/work. And the taste and texture are spot on! My new go-to biscuit recipe! And they look great too! I'll try dropping them on a sheet for my next batch!
