This is delicious! I had to make a small substitute (I didn’t have enough heavy cream) so I used half and half with a few spoonfuls of sour cream. Works great. The pasta water is coming to a boil now!
This is in the oven now... I doubled the recipe because we have a large family and from the look and smell of this, it’s a winner! We are making homemade Mac and cheese to go with it, and a big salad. Everyone keeps walking by the kitchen asking what smells so good! I’m so glad that I got the canned French onion concentrate, when I put the sauce in and tasted it, there is clearly a richness to it that wouldn’t be in the packets. Thanks so much! Fantastic! My family is in love with this stuff! Thanks so much for this recipe! I read other reviews and toasted the walnuts plus added extra maple extract... then gave it 3 Tbsp of real maple syrup. Perfect. It set up wonderfully. I’ll be making this again!
