So this did come out pretty good, but just to be clear I didn't follow the recipe because I didn't have unsalted butter and I didn't have lemon zest. I just use salted butter and went without the lemon zest. It was still pretty good, very tangy.
This came out really good. Next time, I will make my apple slices bigger though because by the time the top crumble browned, the very thinly sliced apples underneath were a little more cooked than I'd like.
Quick, easy recipe. I think my muffin tins are smaller than normal, so the cooking time only took about 15 minutes for the muffins. I also put some batter in mini loaf pans and cooked those for about 25 minutes. Both came out great! I also added walnuts to both mixtures.
Mine came out really good! I did however, need to leave it in the oven for about an hour and a half, with the last 15 to 20 minutes having foil over the top. Not sure if it made a difference, but I used parchment paper in the muffin tins instead of greasing and flowering them. I also did half white sugar and half light brown sugar only because I ran out of white sugar, lol.
