I didn't want the pieces to shrink too much so I only caramelized then for a minute or two. Still they came out with nice caramelized edges and a fluffy inside! Great recipe and fun to make!

The flavors were really good on this rub. I can see how it was adapted from a lamb recipe because I think it would be amazing on lamb.Also be careful with the cook time. I checked 2.78lb roast at 1 hour and it was already 150...so the meat was a little too done for me, but still giving 5 stars because the flavors were all there.

The seasoning rub was great. Ended up using Sweet Baby Rays Sweet 'n Spicy Barbecue Sauce and I think it complimented the spice rub really well. The technique for cooking the ribs was spot on and they came out perfectly cooked.

Does Chef John ever miss? I think not. These breakfast bars are great. It's just the right amount of sweet mixed with the crunchy oats.

Pretty easy to make and a good low carb/gluten free snack.

I don't really feel like rating the recipe as written is fair since I deviated quite a bit. I added chopped green peppers, red peppers and onions to the meat layer (seasoned the veggies with a generous amount of salt while sauteing), mixed in hot taco sauce with the sour cream, and used a pie crust due to availability. However, the flavor came out big. I would make again with my add ins but with the right dough.
