I made the recipe as instructed except used only vanilla, almond and lemon extracts. I also used goats milk instead of regular milk, butter flavor crisco was used. The cake came out perfect. My son came over and tasted it and left with half the cake. My family loves it. Will continue to make this recipe over and over again.

It's a great recipe. I omitted the salt and pepper. Used Bellview garden vegetable and chicken soup base. Didn't have marjoram used oregano and added a tsp of sugar. Added chopped garlic with onions. My family loved it. Also had yellow peas and it worked out great.

Only thing I did different was add a little cinnamon and nutmeg. Other than that it was perfect. Someone said it was watery then they didn't cook the sauce long enough.
