That’s quite a pot of chowder. I cut it in half and still plenty to go around. Per other suggestions and previous experience I did add some finely chopped bacon and some curry powder (I recall my mother doing this back in Nova Scotia and she made deadly chowders). Didn’t have all the fish mentioned but it sounds like a “go with what you have on hand” recipe so wasn’t concerned. It can get pretty expensive if you include everything (especially the lobster). Great basic chowder recipe.

I don’t know what went wrong. Pretty well followed the recipe to a “T”. Added some garlic and shallots. Had an old cast iron pot I used as a Dutch oven to let it simmer in. Was tough and very bland. Veal is a very mild flavour but I figured the wine, garlic etc would infuse some flavour. No such luck. My wife and I were both very disappointed. Hadn’t cooked veal in years so was really looking forward t this. Have to keep looking I guess.

This is my meatloaf go to. My wife is allergic to mustard so I substitute cayenne. Used maple sugar just because I have it. Great recipe!

Simple and tasty. Will definitely use this recipe again. No changes necessary.

Turns out pretty good. Pretty much left salt out so that was my choice but even so the flavour was pretty rich. Also since diced tomatoes come in 28 oz cans I just used two full cans so it was a little soupier than perhaps it should have been.
