It’s not like a dessert bread it’s like a breakfast bread that you’d toast or a unique sandwich bread. The pumpkin flavor is light but noticeable. The crumb is moist yet fluffy and chewy. It is gently sweet but could be served savory too.
I’ve made this recipe 3 times now, always following the recipe ingredients exactly. The only change I made was simmering the sauce for 10-12 minutes first, then adding the chicken to the pan after for another 10 minutes. Otherwise, you will definitely over cook the chicken. The sauce will thicken it just takes about 22-25 min to do so. Next time I’ll try a little orange zest for more orange flavor. NOTE: you can find ginger paste and garlic paste in the chilled produce section near the fresh herbs. They come in squeeze tubes. I found a brand called Gourmet Garden.
