This is an outstanding staple recipe! It's the closest consistency and flavor to my mother-in-law's legendary homemade mac n cheese. I make it often for large gatherings and get requests for the recipe all the time. It halves easily (freeze or repurpose leftover ingredients). However, we have gone to making the whole recipe and freezing leftovers in meal portions for quick side dish later on. Thank you so very much for this keeper recipe!!
