This is one of my family's all time favorites. I throw in a handful of garlic cloves and shortened the cook time to about 16 hrs. I usually sauté some mushrooms in a brown gravy mix and add those in after I shred the pork. It adds a little more sauce, just in case.
My family loves these, and so do any guests that I make them for. I don't use water chestnuts, but I do put in small shrimp that I have chopped up and mixed in.
