New Englander born and bred. Great soup! Just like the chowder I remember my mother making. I followed the recipe as is. Homemade chowder was always a thin base when I was growing up. If you cook the potatoes in the clam juice and then add the leftover juice in, it thickens up just enough. It's not supposed to be really thick. Really, really good! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. :)
