This soup was pretty good. We were a little skeptical at first...wine and onions??? We cut it down to two servings, used dried parsley and added half a can of chicken broth. It tasted pretty good without the broth, but we think it tasted a little better with it. I think using fresh parsley would have made this dish taste even better. Hooray for 2 buck Chuck!
Holy cow this was good! We stuck to the recipe and it turned out fantastic. Next time we will make sure the potatoes are soft when we layer them. We had a few slices that were still a bit hard, but it really didn't affect the taste. I will make this dish again. Never really knew the power of cinnamon. Yum!
I picked out the smallest butternut squash (4lbs) I could find at the store. After cubing 1/2 of the squash, it was enough to fill the crockpot half way and everything else just fit under the lid. The only thing I added to the recipe was a Jalapeno instead of the red pepper. It turned out great! We really liked it and will make this again. We served it with a loaf of French bread and a salad - YUM!
Yep, this was really good. Easy to make. Needed to be a bit more spicey for us, so we will throw in a jalapeno or two next time. I doubled the marinade, but took half out before adding the chicken to the rest of the ingredients so it didn't turn out too soggy/pasty.
I omitted the chicken so we could just have fried rice along with our Kung Pao Chicken(from allrecipes.com) dish. We threw in some mixed vegetables and some chicken broth to give it a bit more flavor.
