I was looking for something to do with leftover Thanksgiving turkey and happened upon this recipe. I had all the ingredients including a can of crescent rolls which had been languishing in my frig forever. I made it pretty much as directed except I used Italian Seasoned Panko Bread Crumbs for the topping. I think this was an important change as the casserole itself had no seasoning without it. The crescent rolls were cut into approximately 1/2 x 1/2 inch squares but did not fully cook which was somewhat disturbing to be eating raw dough. I know it was supposed to be dumpling like but it was not. I wonder if possibly baking them slightly ahead of time would have helped, or maybe cutting them into smaller pieces. Anyway, I found this to be very good and will try to remember it to make again.
I found this looking for recipes using ground chicken and I'm so glad I did! After reading some of the previous reviews, I made a few changes. I only had one pound of chicken but I didn't completely halve the sauce. Now I wish I had because it was more like a dip than a sloppy joe. I did halve the buffalo sauce and it was plenty hot enough. I added chopped celery and carrot in with the onion to reinforce the chicken wing experience and to add more veggies. I did not add as much cheddar as recommended, probably more like 3-4 ounces. To eat, I toasted the buns, sprinkled with blue cheese crumbles, then topped with the sloppy joe mixture. Open face sandwiches. This was delicious! Thanks!
I ended up with some ripe bananas after being away from home for a few days and I wanted to make a snacking cake. This fit the bill perfectly. I subbed 1/2 c coconut oil for half the butter. I didn't have buttermilk but I always have buttermilk powder so I used it (2T plus 1/2 c water). I used mini morsels and only about 1/2 the amount called for. I'm not a huge chocolate fan and didn't want chocolate to overpower every thing else. I ended up baking this for a full 40 minutes which was a bit too much as it is slightly dry. My fault. I'm glad there is an actual banana measurement instead of a banana count because they vary in size so much. I used three which was just a bit more than 1 cup. I like the addition of coconut and nuts (I used pecans). I will make again. Thanks!
Very good! I halved the recipe as there are only two of us to eat it. After reading some reviews, I decided to leave out the brown sugar. Other than that I made as directed except for adding the chopped onions and peppers to the browning ground beef. It let them cook a bit more. I didn't use a measured amount of cheese, just covered the top with it. I will be making this again. Don't leave off the fresh cilantro. It makes the dish pop and cuts some of the sweet.
I halved the recipe and used homemade ranch dressing and real bacon (bacon bits eww). I think overall the salad was good but needed something, maybe taco seasoning mixed into the dressing. I was hesitant about it because I'm not a mushy bread fan but the texture of the cornbread didn't bother me. I'll probably make it again.
I have made this twice now and those who have tried it love it! I personally have not tried because habaneros are too hot for me. I used habaneros instead of hot chili peppers because it is what I had. I also used a pickling spice blend as a sub for the allspice berries. I will be making this every time I can find nice cauliflower at a good price.
