I was craving this pie for a long time but gave up baked goods trying to get ready for a wedding. I caved but it was worth it. This is my go to recipe. The only thing I change is to use half nutmeg half cinnamon. I also baked for a full hour adjusting for how my oven works. I love it cold so I let it chill until the next morning when I had a large slice for breakfast and lunch. It might last 3 days top. I also used the shortening crust recipe which came out excellent. I'm eating a slice, ok 2, as we speak. No judgment 😁

O.M.G this was so good that it is all I will be baking anytime soon! Mine took an hour to bake and was so worth it. I never got around to adding powdered sugar or drizzled icing, it was perfectly delicious!

I had a cup of buttermilk left over from a cake recipe and needed something to do with it so I tried these biscuits. They are delicious. I let mine cook 5 minutes longer and I am not disappointed! Mine yielded 8 biscuits. I don't know if they're good with jelly or syrup because they didn't last long enough for me to try.

Made it, love it, will definitely make it again. Only had self rising flour so left out the baking soda. Used rum extract and it is delicious. Folded in the sour cream but next time will blend better so as not to have the cream clots. Mine needed 70 mins but ovens vary.
