Followed exact recipe and my family did not care for it at all. The best word I know to describe the taste is weird and dry. I have a few tuna cass recipes that we do like, but always willing to try someone else's take. I had to toss this and make sandwiches.
Personal preference, but I did season it up a bit. I am glad I checked the beef 1/2 way through the "8 hours on low" because the beef would have been like shoe leather if I cooked it that long. It was beautifully tender at 4 hours. (I have a no-frills crockpot, so perhaps the low setting is not low enough.) That said, the family loved it and it was oh-so-easy to make. My daughter, who does not usually like beef, even took the leftovers to work for lunch the next day. I will definitely make this again.
Made this on a raw, rainy day and family liked it. I did use a rotisserie chicken and boiled the bones to make the broth. It was too thin for my taste so I added a 3rd can of beans, pureed with it's liquid. That helped, but not enough for my taste; more like a chowder than a chili. It was ok, but I probably won't make it again.
made as directed. my oven has air fryer mode so crispy/ browning were good. my granddaughter did she prefers to have the sauce for dipping, not baked on so I'll do that next time. Didn't get "crazy good" reviews here but they were tasty enough to try again, grandkid's way.
