Sorry, I would say not the best. I tried this because I love Havarti cheese, but I thought it was dry, and even with all those ingredients, still did not have a lot of flavor. It's OK, but just does not seem worth it to me to make again.
Different. Like a pasta sauce with a bit of an odd kick. I have to say that I agree with a review that said anyone who thinks it's too spicy is a whimp. :-) Just basically meaning that unless you really just hate any spiciness, don't be put off by that. I originally made this cause I was looking for something quick and easy to dump on some meat torillini that I had, and this actually matched it well. I used the rest the next night with plain pasta and did not like it as well. Perhaps I just prefer it with meat? I did google this and discover it's a sort of marinara with a kick, and I don't like marinara on plain pasta, so that probably explains it. I could see using this with chicken or a dipping sauce or something.
I made this as is, using the big pot on the stove. The flavor was good, but I thought it over-sweet, or over-something. It just made me thirsty. It might be better on a *very* cold day (like the frigid weather we had a week ago but that isn't when I made it).
This was good but nothing really different. It's very similar to another pasta salad I make. The only change was using fat-free Miracle Whip, as I always do, because I don't like real mayo. I'm on the side of those saying the Italian marinade did nothing for it. After marinating, I could taste none of that dressing - I'm sure it would be just as good without it.
UPDATE 12/2/12: Just decided to up this to a 5 star. It has grown on me more and I find myself maing it quite a bit.
Made as is except for vanilla frozen yogurt instead of ice cream. This is pretty good and very easy. Although it does not need the sugar and I would not use that again.
