Oh my god, the crunch is divine! My family said they weren't that big on onion rings but I made these and they loved them! The crunch was the best and the coating stayed on through the frying process. The onion cooked perfectly inside the coating. I added black pepper and Tony Chachere's seasoning for extra flavor. I found this recipe because I couldn't figure out what to serve with sloppy joes - it was perfect. I think even kids would like this!
I made this on a whim, found the recipe a minute before I needed to start dinner for myself. I halfed the recipe because I only had one banana and really wanted banana pancakes. It was a great base recipe for pancakes. I've got it down now. My changes: I added more sugar, 3 or 4 tbsp (I wanted mine sweet). I forgot the salt, added a splash of vanilla, and added about 3 tsp of cinnamon. The cinnamon flavor wasn't forward, the combination of ingredients made for a perfect umame of banana pancake flavor. I also made a dulce de leche caramel sauce for it and it was spectacular. (I didn't have any syrup.) Great recipe! Quick and easy. Banana pancakes can sure cheer a girl up!
