It was perfect. Crunchy outside, gooey and soft inside. Plenty of orange flavor as I did not measure the 1 tsbp. of orange zest but zested two navel oranges and used all the the zest. Great for the holidays!

I would make it again. And I don't agree with those who said the batter needed more sugar! With the powdered sugar on top it is perfect!

I am a club sponsor for a group of middle schoolers where we make nothing but cookies. So I've made a lot of cookies over 15 years. I really liked this recipe. I am the one who dyed the dough purple and teal for our school colors. HUGE hit! I am making this recipe again during the holidays with red/green and yellow and blue. Super yummy.

Pretty simple to make. Used my hands to mix in the flour, it was easier that way. Very buttery. I had leftover whole wheat flour that I used 2 cups WW and 2 cups AP flour and you can't tell the difference. Make sure to use jam and preserves; a chunky all fruit kind of spread. Would make again and maybe add some real fruit like sliced strawberries or frozen blueberries.
