Oh my, this is goodness in a bowl! I didn't have any jalapenos so added red pepper flakes, other than that didn't change a thing, it is delish! I microwaved my corn after cutting off the lower part of the cob. Cut off just enough to be able to see the kernels. Nuc for 4 mins, then grab the cob with a towel cause it's gonna be hot and squeeze the cob out by pinching the top of the cob. If you do it this way you won't get any silk. Don't let it cool too much or it's a little harder to squeeze out.
This is delish! So much better than the store-bought stuff. I did what another did and added cream of tartar as well as more vanilla.Mixed a heaping teaspoon with some dark rum and topped it off with boiling hot water. Soooo good!
Good stuff! My only change was I only used 1/4 cup of BS and I added a fresh zucchini out of the garden, why not I have lots! I only added 1 next time I'll add 2 or 3, it was good. It would be great as a lettuce wrap as another writer mentioned.
The first time I made these croutons I followed Chef John to the T. Next time I made them I didn't strain out the garlic, why would you(?), I mixed all the seasonings in the oil/garlic and drizzled it over the bread cubes and tossed. I added the parmesan cheese and baked approx 45 mins, stirring every 15 mins. Wonderful, garlicky, cheesy croutons, what could be better?!
