For most of us, Little Debbie snacks were some of the sweetest treats of childhood. Even seeing them on the grocery store shelves now floods us with a wave of after-school snack nostalgia.

So, when we find more elevated versions of our favorite Little Debbie desserts, whether a featured Crumbl cookie flavor or a Costco dessert resembling the classic Christmas treat, we find ourselves immediately drawn to them.

Recently, Costco members spotted a fun new bakery treat that looks like another re-creation of a Little Debbie snack staple: the Strawberry Shortcake Swiss Roll. So, if you feel you’ve outgrown the lunchbox version, this fresh spin is the snack to shop.

Costco’s New Strawberry Shortcake Swiss Rolls

Costco shoppers are thrilled to see a Little Debbie dupe hidden in the packaged bakery section. The ready-to-eat cake rolls feature a soft vanilla sponge swirled up with the familiar strawberry and fluffy cream filling. That classic combination of cake, cream, and strawberry is hard to beat, especially for a light summer treat.

"C'mon how can those be bad!?" one fan commented. "Even the little Debbie ones are tasty."

The Strawberry Shortcake Swiss Rolls have been a beloved member of the Little Debbie lineup for almost eight years, offering a summery spin on the classic chocolate Swiss rolls. The fruity flavor has become so popular that the brand turned it into an ice cream treat earlier this year.

Costco's take has everything you love about the classic childhood snack but elevated enough to put out at a potluck or serve for afternoon tea with friends. The Swiss rolls are slightly thicker and fluffier and have a fresher flavor than the boxed brand. Sliced into pinwheels, they'd make an easy and elegant offering for any occasion.

All in all, this dessert gets our Little Debbie stamp of approval, and believe us, that means a lot. The bakery bundle by Quinn's comes with 12 cake rolls for $7.99. Sure, that's steeper than the usual $3 price tag for the box of six rolls, but if you prefer good taste over good value, Costco's treats might just take the (snack) cake.
