Costco Is Now Selling Krispy Kreme By the Super Dozen

Costco just got a little more tempting for those drawn to delicious baked goods (so basically, all of us). The warehouse store already has a bakery department with everything from s’mores cookies to mini cakes and sugared orange rolls, plus so many other goodies that seem to whisper, “Buy us all!” 

With all the cakes, cookies, and pies readily available, there doesn’t seem to be a need for an unexpected treat to pop up in Costco. And yet, after a Reddit user spotted a particular green-and-white box in a California Costco location, suddenly we got to think that yes, actually Costco did need one more treat. And that specific treat is doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. 

It’s not unusual to find Krispy Kreme doughnuts outside the bakery shop. Some grocery stores carry half dozens and dozens of doughnuts that Krispy Kreme delivers daily. Earlier this year, McDonald’s announced an expanded partnership with Krispy Kreme to serve its doughnuts at Mickey D’s locations nationwide. But, spying a box of Original Glazed or perhaps even the latest collection—such as the current Olympics-inspired Passport to Paris Collection—is not typical at Costco. However, a new post on Reddit suggest this may be changing soon.

Krispy Kreme Is Now Sold at Costco

The original poster on Reddit, who added the photo of a table full of boxes of Krispy Kreme, started the conversation with, “Uh oh. Big uh oh. Krispy Kreme dozens at Costco? Lord help me.”

But someone corrected the original poster by mentioning, “It's 15 not 12 donuts.” Another responded, joking that a 15-pack shall “henceforth [be] known as a Costco dozen.”

Then, based on the original “Lord help me” comment, things got predictably pious.

“Our Krispy Kreme, who art in Costco,” wrote one commenter. Another added, “hallowed be thy glaze,” but our favorite line has to be, “give us this day our daily doughnuts.”

Now, we don’t need daily doughnuts (even if we really want daily doughnuts), but occasionally picking up a “Costco dozen” to share with family or co-workers can make everyone’s day.

The price at the California location appeared to be $19.89 for 15 doughnuts. The box says it contains a trio of flavors, although we don’t know which doughnut varieties are included. One commenter mentioned that at their California Krispy Kreme store, “a dozen assorted is $22.49,” making the Costco dozen “a helluva deal.”

We’re not sure how many Costco locations are carrying Krispy Kreme doughnuts at this time, but we do know that next time we make a Costco run, we’ll be saying a prayer that they’re in stock.
