Malted Chocolate Milkshake

When I was in high school, I had a part-time job at a pizza restaurant. After every payday, I would treat myself to a chocolate malt which at that time was served at the local pharmacy soda fountain. These days I make my own, but it’s still like a “blast from the past.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups chocolate ice cream

  • 3 tablespoons malted milk powder

  • 1/2 cup milk, or to taste

  • 2 tablespoons whipped cream (optional)

Directions

  1. Combine ice cream and malted milk powder in a blender container, and pulse until well combined. Gradually add milk, while blending, until you reach your preferred consistency.

  2. Pour into a glass, and garnish with whipped cream, if desired.

    Cook's Note:

    If you have time, chill your blender container. Your malt will stay frosty longer.
