A great summertime recipe for cooling down. Kids love it. It's fast, easy, and healthy, too! Substitute strawberries for strawberry shortcake smoothies! You can also use this mixture in Popsicle® molds to make yummy frozen fruit-pops!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • ½ cup half-and-half cream

  • 2 tablespoons white sugar

  • 2 teaspoons lemon extract

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • 12 vanilla wafers

  • ice cubes as desired

Directions

  1. Blend milk, half-and-half, sugar, lemon extract, and cinnamon in a blender; add blueberries and blend until thick and smooth. Blend vanilla wafers and ice cubes into milk mixture until desired consistency is reached.

Cook's Notes:

You can substitute 1 packet of your choice of sugar substitute for the sugar.

You can substitute 2% milk for the whole milk. You can substitute fat-free half-and-half for the half-and-half.
