Ingredients

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (Optional)

  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (Optional)

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 large banana, mashed

  • ¼ cup white sugar

  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 egg white

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • cup black sesame seeds

  • cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a loaf pan.

  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a bowl. Mix banana, white sugar, brown sugar, egg white, milk, canola oil, and vanilla extract together in a separate bowl; stir into flour mixture just until batter is moistened. Fold sesame seeds and walnuts into batter; pour into prepared loaf pan.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
