This is an easy way to make savory, spicy steak fries. The cayenne pepper helps the fries crisp just perfectly. Make sure not to overcook or they will be too crispy. Otherwise, this recipe gives you a crispy outside and soft inside to the fries.

Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes

  • ¼ cup olive oil

  • 3 tablespoons cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

  2. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise. Continue cutting slices in half until only thin wedges remain.

  3. Combine wedges, oil, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Transfer to a large baking dish, making sure no fries overlap.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven, flipping once, until golden brown, 30 to 45 minutes.
