This is a delightful sauce for a summer's day treat! Serve warm over ice cream. Can also be used for pancakes or waffles. Top with some fresh whipped cream... Mmm...a little bit of heaven!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup white sugar

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1 pinch salt

  • ¼ cup water

  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt together in a medium saucepan. Stir in water and lemon juice. Add blueberries.

  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium-low heat, until thick and bubbling, about 10 minutes.

  3. Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla.

Cook's Note:

You can use frozen blueberries instead of fresh.
