Wendy's Finally Brought Back Everyone's Favorite Frosty

Get it before it disappears again.

You would think any fast-food restaurant that sells milkshakes (or a milkshake-like product) would always have chocolate and vanilla as staple flavors. The two classic flavors are both useful as a beverage and a French fry dip

Wendy’s doesn’t call its version a milkshake, although it does contain milk. Its frozen treat that comes with a straw and a spoon is famously known as a Frosty. It’s intended to be "thick enough to use a spoon, smooth enough to use a straw, and perfect when enjoyed on the end of a fry." They got it mostly right, in our experience. In its super thick stage, it makes the BEST dip for French fries. It can be tough to drink through a straw at first, but after it warms up a bit, using a straw is possible.

Surprisingly, Wendy’s doesn’t always have the vanilla flavor available. The machinery at Wendy’s restaurants has enough room for just two flavors. One of them is always chocolate, Wendy’s OG Frosty, and the other is for either vanilla or a limited-time-only, seasonal flavor.

This past summer, Wendy’s added a Strawberry Frosty, made with the Vanilla Frosty base, to the menu. That meant plain vanilla got kicked out of its spot. A Pumpkin Spice Frosty replaced the Strawberry, and at the end of the year, the holiday Peppermint Frosty knocked Pumpkin Spice off the menu.

But now, with the holiday season behind us, Vanilla Frosty fans can rejoice! The Vanilla Frosty is coming home, at least until Wendy’s drops its next seasonal flavor.

The Vanilla Frosty Is Back at Wendy's

Instagram’s Snackolator was one of the first to break the news on social media, and Wendy’s fans are thrilled—for the most part.

“Yay,” one fan commented. “I swear every dessert is always chocolate..more justice for the vanilla fans.”

The excitement was palpable with comments like “FINALLYYYYYYYY,” “Hallelujah!” and “the best frosty flavor." And one person just put a meme of a goat, presumably indicating the Vanilla Frosty is the greatest of all time.

Is everyone excited? Of course not. It wouldn’t be social media if everyone was happy, would it? “All 3 fans are thrilled,” one naysayer added to the conversation.

We have news for that curmudgeon. Many more than three fans are thrilled. Many, many more.
