Julia Child

Julia Child was a longtime Food & Wine contributor, a household name, and a champion of French cuisine. She authored Mastering the Art of French Cooking, a world-renowned tome with more than 500 recipes, two volumes, and more than five language translations, and starred on cooking show The French Chef for nine seasons.

Experience

Julia Child became famous in the United States in the 1960s for co-authoring a massive collection of foundational French recipes in her cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, in 1951 and hosting one of the original cooking programs on television, called The French Chef, from 1963 to 1973. She went on to appear on a handful of subsequent TV shows, including Baking with Julia and Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home in the 1990s. Child is the subject of the documentary, Julia, and inspired the 2009 film, Julie & Julia.

Education

Child famously attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
