Order Girl & the Goat Meal Kits and Make Stephanie Izard's Short Ribs, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and More

If you tuned in to the Food & Wine Classic at Home, you can save 20 percent for a limited time.

Last week, we hosted our first-ever Food & Wine Classic at Home, a two-hour virtual fundraising event that featured chef demos, tastings, and more. 2011 Best New Chef Stephanie Izard was part of the star-packed lineup, and in her demo, she showed us how to make crumpets with chorizo maple syrup and fresh blueberries, which have been on the menu at her restaurant Little Goat since it opened.

In the demo, she shares a few tips, including making sure you're using a hot pan when you cook sausage, and different fruits you can substitute in for the blueberries. Before she started cooking, Izard also says that her restaurants have been offering meal kits during the pandemic. Indeed, there are several Girl & the Goat kits available for nationwide shipping through Goldbelly. (The chorizo from the sausage kit is what she used to make the crumpets in the video above.) They first went live on the website in late May, but if you registered for the Classic at Home, there’s extra incentive to order this week—you get 20 percent off. The deal went live on July 23, and you can use the code “BELLYGOAT20.”

There are a few different kits available, including a “10 Year Birthday Kit for 4,” a “Grill Kit for 4,” and a “Cabra Salmon Saltado Dinner Kit for 2.” For $89, the Grill Kit serves four people and packs in “herb marinated grilled shrimp, kalbi style beef short ribs, corn cobbettes, and blistered shishitos with puffed rice”—for dessert, enough cookie dough is provided to make two chocolate chip cookies. And in the 10 Year Birthday Kit for 4 (also $89), which celebrates the restaurant’s 10th birthday, you can expect “fan favorites and signature dishes from the past 10 years,” such as “Girl & the Goat Pig Face” and “Girl & the Goat Green Beans.” The spread offers four goat empanadas, but you can order a dozen separately ($79) if you want more. Each kit comes with ingredients, including a “featured sauce or spice” from This Little Goat, and instructions for cooking and storing the food as well.

For registrants interested in ordering, you can use the code through July 30. And if you missed the Classic at Home on Thursday, the entire event is still available to watch online. You can follow along as Martha Stewart whips up a peach pavlova and "Martha-Rita," JJ Johnson prepares Gullah Shrimp Burgers, and Izard makes the aforementioned crumpets. All of the recipes from the Classic at Home can be found in this PDF.
