Summer is one of my favorite times to host. With the backyard’s greenery in full force, I’ll make any excuse to have people over for a casual weeknight meal on the deck or to throw a dinner party under my string lights

With the trees finally in bloom around the neighborhood, I’m already daydreaming of summer cookouts, and Williams Sonoma’s newest collection is full of kitchen upgrades I’m eyeing ahead of summer hosting. From an Italian-inspired serving platter to Staub’s cast iron grill pan in bright citron, these pieces are perfect for summer, and right now, prices start at just $20.

The Best Pieces From Williams Sonoma’s Summer Collection

Staub Enameled 6.5-Quart Wide Dutch Oven

Williams Sonoma

Thanks to its oval shape, Staub’s enameled wide Dutch oven is perfect for braising short ribs, roasting a whole chicken, or slow-cooking chili for a crowd. I especially love that it can go straight from the stovetop to the oven to the dining table, making it a versatile piece of cookware for any occasion. The domed lid features spikes that trap and return moisture so food is guaranteed to come out tender and juicy every time. Staub’s new colorway, citron, is bright and cheerful, perfect for summertime dining. Good news: This normally pricey Dutch oven is on sale for nearly half the price at $250.

Staub Enameled Cast Iron Grill Pan

Grilling doesn’t have to be exclusive to the outdoors. When I didn’t have outdoor space, the Staub grill pan, currently on sale for $150, was my go-to for getting defined grill marks and a beautiful sear on my stovetop. Even today I turn to it on rainy days when I don’t want to stand outside by my grill in a downpour. The deep ridges leave impressive grill marks and the nonstick enamel makes this pan easy to clean up, no matter how much char ends up on it. I love the new lilac colorway, which gives the pan the perfect light, summery feel.

Some of my favorite cookware pieces are my baking dishes. They’re perfect for lasagna, cinnamon rolls, tiramisu, and so much more. These Le Creuset rectangular baking dishes come in three convenient sizes including small (1 quart capacity), medium (2.5 quart capacity), and large (4 quart capacity), so they can be used to cook for a crowd or to make just two cinnamon rolls for oneself (as I often do). Le Creuset’s new pêche colorway perfectly captures the feeling of summer, and it’s already on sale, including this whole set at just $135.

All-Clad Stainless-Steel 12-Quart Multipot

All-Clad Stainless-Steel Multipot

Williams Sonoma

I spent one very happy summer eating plenty of seafood boils and often think back happily to that time. This may just be the summer I take on a proper seafood boil myself, especially now that All-Clad has a stainless-steel multipot that’s $180 and perfect for the task. The stockpot insert makes it simple to lift and strain foods, and as someone with small hands, I appreciate the wider handles that provide a firm, secure grip.

Every time I tell myself I’ve hit my limit for candlestick holders, I find another set that tempts me. These limone taper holders are the perfect balance of whimsical and classy. Coming from a Williams Sonoma collection that’s inspired by Italy’s Amalfi Coast, I can practically smell the citrus just by looking at them. At $20 for the pair, these hand-painted beauties are too good to pass up.

Sicily Outdoor Melamine Oval Platter

As someone who loves to host, having a large serving platter is invaluable. Measuring at 17 inches by 13.5 inches, this platter from Williams Sonoma’s Sicily melamine collection is perfect for stacking sandwiches or piling up lamb skewers. Thanks to the durable melamine material, it’ll stand the test of time over years of cookouts. For $30, it’s a simple yet game-changing upgrade for those who enjoy dining al fresco.

Williams Sonoma Grill Comb Skewers, Set of 4

Williams Sonoma Grill Comb Skewers, Set of 4

Williams Sonoma

While I love vegetable skewers, I don’t love having to skew them, which is why these Williams Sonoma skewers caught my attention with their ingenious comb design. Each skewer features 12 prongs that offer more capacity and versatility, since you can skewer from the sides instead of top-to-bottom as you would with traditional skewers. You can take off or add on food as needed, and at $25, they’re a great deal for easier, cleaner grilling

Le Creuset Alpine Outdoor BBQ Tool Bundle

I’ve been eyeing my father-in-law’s grilling tools for years now, and this may be the summer that I upgrade my old, mismatched utensils to this shiny, new set of tools from Le Creuset. The set comes with a slotted turner, tongs, and a two-pronged fork. I love the extra long handles, which are helpful for working with high temperatures around the grill or live fire. At $85 for the whole set, they is rising to the top of my summer upgrades wishlist.

Williams Sonoma Outdoor Nonstick Corn Basket

I’m a sucker for kitchen tools that make cooking more efficient. This $20 Williams Sonoma corn basket promises to be a time hack for grilling corn with its clever design that holds up to four ears of corn. Instead of flipping corn on the grill individually, the corn basket lets you flip them all at once so you can quickly move onto the next kitchen task. Additionally, the basket is adjustable to accommodate different corn sizes.

Williams Sonoma Smash Burger Press

It’s a known truth that grill presses make burgers better. This Williams Sonoma smash burger press is no exception, and at $33, I’m certainly eyeing it for a tool upgrade. Made of a pre-seasoned cast iron, this press helps create a crisp, browned sear on a burger. Most importantly, it delivers even pressure, a must for making sure heat and weight is evenly distributed across the burger patty.
