We really liked this! It definitely needs seasoning though, so I made sure to add a decent amount of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I also mixed the spinach together with hot pasta and hot chicken in a large bowl to help the spinach wilt before adding it all to the baking dish rather than stirring it in the baking dish. It would have been difficult to stir that much spinach in the baking dish with the other ingredients.
I was a bit nervous about how the results would be given the mixed reviews, but these turned out delicious! I made the recipe exactly as written, but made sure to spoon and level the flour (rather than scoop) to avoid them becoming too dense. I also lined the pan with parchment paper (sprayed with nonstick spray) for easy removal and slicing. I will definitely make this one again.
This was absolutely delicious!! I made a few small changes after reading the reviews. First, I added a little garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper to both the egg mixture and the soup mixture (to taste). Then I baked for 30 minutes covered with foil, and about 50 minutes uncovered (I checked around 45 minutes to make sure it wasn’t getting overdone). It was cooked through and the texture perfect (not soggy), which browned edges but not burnt. I’d make this again for sure.
This was so easy and so family friendly! The only change I made was to remove the foil for the last few minutes of cooking time to crisp up the top slightly. It would also be fun to experiment with different toppings, like chopped red onion and sour cream.
Made this exactly as written and it was DELICIOUS! Nice balance of tartness and sweetness in the plum filling, and a slight saltiness from the dough. Great way to use up plums.
This was delicious! I followed the advice of one of the reviewers to let the breadcrumbs soak in the milk while I prepped the other ingredients, then mixed it with the meat. It turned out really well.
