These jalapeño popper pigs in a blanket are a first—I’ve seen jalapeño poppers and pigs in a blanket served many ways, but this combo together may be my favorite way to do both.

Ingredients

  • 8 jalapeño peppers, cut in half lengthwise, seeds and membranes removed

  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese

  • 1 1/4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

  • 16 cocktail wieners, such as Hillshire Farms Lil Smokies®

  • 2 (8 ounce) packages crescent roll dough (8 count each)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment. Rinse jalapeños to remove any remaining seeds and pat dry.

  2. Stir cream cheese and Cheddar cheese together in a bowl until well combined. Divide cheese mixture among jalapeño halves and top each with a sausage.

  3. Separate crescent dough into 16 triangles. Roll each filled pepper in crescent dough and place on the prepared baking sheets.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 13 to 15 minutes.  Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
