A First-of-Its-Kind Twinkie Is Coming to Walmart—You'll Never Guess the Flavor

Hostess, the snack company behind Twinkies, occasionally links up with Walmart to offer some exclusive items to customers. 

Remember last year's 3-foot-long Twinkies Holiday Gift Box? How about those ZingerDingers (we love the name, too) made of vanilla cake in the shape of Ding Dongs topped with Zingers’ coconut?  

The two brands are up to it again, releasing a first-of-its-kind Twinkies flavor that will only be found at Walmart. 

New Mystery Flavor Twinkies

Hostess is teaming up with content creator Taylor Calmus (aka Dude Dad) to release its Mystery Flavor Twinkies with the help of Twinkies fans everywhere.

The new Twinkies are at Walmart locations for you to try now. Then, starting Aug. 1, fans will be able to guess the new flavor by entering a sweepstakes online through the Hostess Instagram page. After keeping an eye on updates from Dude Dad for possible hints over the next couple of months, fans will have the opportunity to post their thoughts. 

On Oct. 3, after all entries are received, the grand prize winner will enjoy free Twinkies for a year. If you don't win the grand prize, you can still be one of the two runners-up who will nab a $50 Walmart gift card or one of the five third-place winners to take home some official Hostess swag.

"Hostess and Dude Dad share in bringing joy into consumer homes, so a collaboration on one of our iconic snacks was a perfect match," Chris Balach, vice president of marketing for sweet baked snacks at J.M. Smucker Co., said in a press release. "We're excited for consumers to buy the new Mystery Flavor Twinkies, share them with their family and join in the fun of guessing the flavor.
